SPRING is HERE!!!

SPRING is HERE!!!  How Are You Really Doing With Your Health?

Let’s not sugarcoat this…Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - The Scenic Route - Dr Erica Peabody

We’re a few months into the year now. January had a version of you that was clear, motivated, and ready to do things differently. You had goals, intentions, and a picture of what taking better care of yourself would look like. And now it’s April.

So let me ask you—honestly… how are you actually doing with that? Not the “I’ve been meaning to” answer or the “work’s been crazy” version. The real answer. Because your health always reflects what you’ve been prioritizing—not what you want to prioritize, but what you actually have been. That’s not judgment, that’s awareness and the small, boring, plain, not showy, disciplined habits are where the real magic happens.

There’s something about this time of year that feels like a natural reset. The sun sticks around a little longer, the air feels different, and everything starts waking back up again. And whether you’ve been dialed in or completely off track, spring has this quiet way of asking, “Are you ready to start again—but for real this time?” Not from guilt or pressure, but from ownership. Your body has been with you through all of it—the long days, the stress, the skipped routines, the moments you pushed through instead of slowing down—and it’s been keeping score in ways you can feel, even if you haven’t stopped to acknowledge it yet.

Maybe your energy isn’t where you want it to be. Maybe your body feels tighter, more tense, or just off. Maybe you keep telling yourself you’ll get back into a routine, but it hasn’t quite happened. That’s not failure, but it is a pattern. And patterns don’t shift because we think about changing. They shift when we decide to move differently,  make a different plan  and  begin to show  up differently for yourself.

So pause for a second. If you zoom forward a few months, what do you actually want your health to feel like? Not what sounds nice or what you think you should want—but what you truly want your day-to-day to feel like in your body. More energy when you wake up? Less tension at the end of the day? Better sleep? More freedom to move and live without discomfort? If that version of you already existed, how would they be showing up right now? Because that’s the shift. Not someday—now.

And here’s the part most people overlook. Taking care of your health isn’t just about trying harder or doing more. It’s not just workouts or eating better or being more disciplined. Your body actually has to be able to function well. Your nervous system, your movement, how your body handles stress—IT ALL MATTERS!!! You can’t outwork a body that’s not supported.

That’s where we come in. Chiropractic care isn’t just about fixing pain when it shows up. It’s about helping your body move better, adapt better, and function the way it’s designed to so you can actually feel good doing your life. And if you’ve been trying to manage everything on your own, this might be the moment you stop doing that.

So here’s your invitation. You can keep putting your health on the back burner and hope it sorts itself out, or you can decide that this is the season you do things differently. That you check in, take action, and actually support your body instead of pushing through it. If you’re ready for that, we’re here to help. Let’s get you moving, feeling, and functioning better—starting now. Because April isn’t just another month. It’s your reset.  I am going to leave our phone number here so that you can CALL US and take action now!!   (810)629-6023   www.cafeoflifefenton.com

Twenty-One Years – Still Loving It!

Twenty-one years.  Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - Dr Erica Peabody - Expansion

If you had told me when I first started that I would still feel excited to walk into the office two decades later, I’m not sure I would have believed you. Not because I didn’t love the profession—but because I didn’t yet understand what a long relationship with your work actually looks like.  I remember calling my Mom one day after my second year in to talk about “adulting” and “is this what you do as an adult?  You get up, eat breakfast, go to work, come home, eat dinner to go to sleep and start all over again?”

Now I do understand.  And the truth is: I still enjoy it. Deeply.

That surprises some people. In a world where burnout gets talked about more than purpose, staying passionate about something for 21 years can sound unusual. But the longer I do this work, the more I realize the joy doesn’t come from the novelty of it.

It comes from the meaning of it and my response to my Mom was “At least I get to spend that time helping people.”

The Early Years

When I first started in practice, everything was new.Dr Erica Peabody - Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - In the Genes
Every patient felt like a big moment. Every success felt huge. Every challenge felt personal.

Just constantly learning;  about my craft, about people, about myself.

Those early years are fueled by adrenaline and determination; figuring out systems, finding a rhythm, learning what works and what doesn’t. There are long days and more than a few moments where I  wondered if you’re doing it right and doing it well.

But those years build the foundation for everything and teach resilience.  They teach patience, steadfastness, tenacity and endurance.  And most importantly—they teach you that this work is about helping the people.

Somewhere Along the Way

At some point, something shifts.  The work becomes less about performance and more about service and impact. You understand your process. You trust your experience. You know how to help people in ways that only come from years of doing it.Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - 3 Days In - Dr Erica Peabody (810)69-6023 - Grouchy

There’s a quiet confidence that replaces the feelings of the early years.  And that’s when the work becomes even more fulfilling.  Because you’re not just practicing anymore—you’re guiding, supporting, and witnessing people’s progress in ways that younger versions of myself as a doctor couldn’t fully appreciate yet.

The Real Reward

After 21 years, the greatest reward isn’t the longevity, it’s the relationships.  It’s the patient who has been coming in for years and now brings their kids.
It’s seeing someone who came in struggling walk out stronger and healthier.
It’s the conversations, the trust, the small wins that add up to real change in someone’s life.  It is the moments of joy and also sitting in deep grief as life moves around all of us.

Those moments never get old and they remind me why I chose this path in the first place.

What Keeps It Fresh

People sometimes ask how I stay motivated after so many years.  The answer is simple: no two days are the same and it is the very best part!  Every person who walks through the door brings a different story, a different challenge, a different opportunity to help. That variety keeps the work alive and I am always learning.

And honestly, after 21 years, I’m still learning;  about the body, about people and about how to do this work better every year.  The moment I think I’ve mastered everything is the moment I stop growing and if you know anything about me by this point, you know I never want that.

Perspective Changes Everything

Experience also brings perspective.  I’ve learned not to stress over the small things the way you used to. I’ve learned that tough days happen and that they pass and that consistency matters more than perfection.

Over and above all of that, I have learned to appreciate the privilege of doing work that matters.  This is not just a job and not just a career.  It’s a chance, every single day, to improve someone’s quality of life in a meaningful way.  Not everyone gets to say that about their career and it is something that makes me look ahead with excitement and optimism.

21 Years Later

So here I am, 21 years in.  Still grateful.  Still curious.  Still enjoying the work.  That doesn’t mean every day is perfect. No career works like that. But the bigger picture which is the impact, the relationships and the purpose, makes it worth showing up every morning.

And if the last 21 years have taught me anything, it’s this:  When you build a career around helping people, the work never really gets old.  It just gets more meaningful.

And honestly… I’m excited to see what the next chapter brings.

DOUBLE DOWN

A common theme for the end of the year has been to DOUBLE DOWN!

There are a couple ways to navigate the holiday season and head into the New Year.

Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan Dr Peabody Exercise gym yoga

The first is to rest on your laurels, let some of the commitments to yourself and your life slack, enjoy the holidays, partake in all the sugary celebrations and day by day become more sluggish on all levels of life.

The second way is to DOUBLE DOWN on your commitments to yourself and your health, clean up your diet and water intake immediately following holiday overindulgences and keep a steady state in your exercise routine.

Every Thursday at 1pm EST, Dr Paula Ruffin and I are live on YouTube and streaming to our social media platforms as we discuss the most pertinent topics of the week in our offices. It has been a great way to connect with all of you and continue to share the messages of health and wellness beyond the four walls of our individual offices. …and it is a LOT OF FUN!

If January 1st, 2025 were the starting line of a race, most people are standing at the starting line and will take off when signaled. If you can picture that in your mind, it is as though a HUGE GROUP of people are standing together in crowds at the start of a 5K race. When the gunshot goes off, everyone starts from that stand still.

The most recent topic has been how to end the year in the strongest way possible and be sure we begin 2025 running at full speed!

If you go strong with your commitments to yourself and however you want 2025 to go, starting right now, you will not be standing still on that starting line. It will be as though you come walking/jogging/sprinting right up to that line and bust through all those who were just standing and waiting for the time to “start”.

When it comes to our health, mindset, work, relationship, etc goals for the year to come, get heading in that direction RIGHT NOW!

Yes, still sit back and enjoy all the cheer of the beautiful holiday season we have ahead of us, but then when the Mondays roll around, clean up the weekend, clean up the body and your health and get going again.

Dr Erica Peabody Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan Sauna

Looking back on even this past weekend, I had two big celebrations, one Friday night and one Saturday night. Yes I had a couple drinks and delicious food and deserts. But I woke up this morning and chugged a bunch of water, got outside for fresh air and finished the day with an hour long sauna session to sweat it out and detox.

Monday morning will also start with water, fresh air and then heading into the week of work, I stay super committed to being at the gym or yoga studio every single day. If my schedule does not work to make it to either of those, there will be time to get a good 20 minute extra walk in somewhere.

Here is the thing, the choices we make today not only effect today, they really add to or subtract from our internal resilience for the days/weeks/months/years to come. When we can put daily deposits into our internal “resilience fund” we will be able to, not only navigate the holiday season well, we will also be able to stay strong and healthy to ENJOY all the season brings!

So what if you just took this simple idea to DOUBLE DOWN and be sure your commitments to yourself stay front and center in your days ahead. You will not only benefit now, but when the starting line of 2025 is in sight, you will already be IN MOTION! ….and we all know the great law if inertia – A body in motion wants to STAY IN MOTION!

So ask yourself, is there a place in your life that you can DOUBLE DOWN??? Share below in a comment, I want to hear it! You got this!!

COVID CHAOS

I am writing this from inside some massive COVID chaos! I don’t even know exactly what to call it anymore except for that. (And when I refer to it this way, I am not talking lightly about it. This has been and is very serious as many have been very sick and even lost their lives. This is written from a safe place at home in good health with deep respect for the severity of it all.)

COVID chaos is one of the reasons that this blog has been on delayed because I didn’t know the best way to go about getting a new laptop anyway. I know I could have just ordered one and had it shipped to me but I am such a “hands on” (pun intended from this chiropractor) person and I like to touch and feel things prior to purchasing.

Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - Dr Erica Peabody - COVID chaos

So as I mentioned in the previous blog post, I got a great recommendation from a very knowledgeable person and just pulled the trigger. The experience with Best Buy was seamless and here we are.

So one week later I was noticing that my phone battery would hold a charge for a few hours and then I would have to plug it back in, I would be charging it 2-3 times per day. THEN, last Sunday morning I went on a kayak tour with my niece and nephew and put my cell phone in the “dry” compartment of my kayak…quotes intended. Well turns out it wasn’t dry and it sat in there while I did a few more errands in a bit of water unknown to me.

I put it in a bag of rice and later that day I accidentally dropped it and smashed the screen. On the computer with Verizon for 2 hours on Monday morning through their live chat section…they would say “Well just call us and we can handle it over the phone.” “Call you? With WHAT?!?!?!” Two hours later I have a new phone to be picked up at the local store, or so I thought, until I got an email with shipping information and tracking…now they decide they will ship to me.

Of course they try to deliver to my office during my lunch hour yesterday and missed us so they were going to try again today…Friday, when nobody is there. SO, now they will hold it where it is this morning and I will attempt to go and pick it up at the UPS location…except for I have done this before and they ask for an ID. Which is fine but they usually need the ID address to match the shipping address, except for it doesn’t match because the address on my driver’s license is my home, and this was headed to the office. This should be interesting.

I have seen many patients this past week and it seems this kind of chaos is happening all over. We are all ready to be released to a life of a bit more freedom and some familiar places and processes. The frustrations are high and the quarantine has gotten the best of many.

We are almost there. When things do open up, many will return to some old patterns and routines, and some have taken on an entirely new existence where the radius for desire for daily travel is reduced a lot and each of those is perfectly fine and well.

I have been in solitude for a good portion of the quarantine when I am not at my work. I enjoy the quiet of life, I always have, but I will also enjoy the more “hands on” experience of some of the things we took for granted prior to all of this.

We have all become a little more innovative with our personal and professional lives through this incredible time. The important things have bubbled up to the surface of our awareness and the people that are the most important inside of our lives are front and center. When it all boils down, a laptop and a cell phone are truly “first-world” problems and I realize these are insignificant problems compared to what others around the globe are dealing with and these are not real problems in the grand scheme of things, just using them for examples.

The COVID chaos has been eye-opening, everyone taking a “time out” from their normal lives has been challenging but good. It is going to be nice to get back to SOME of the things we enjoyed about the conveniences of life prior to all of this and NEVER taking any of it for granted again. Our freedoms are broad and wide in this time and place. I hope you and yours are safe and well and I will continue to pray for those who are sick and suffering.

NEW

WOW!! Is life crazy or what? It feels all brand new. But not like the super great brand new that we have been wanting and looking forward to, more like a new that hit us smack in the face, shoved our noses into it and said “Here!!! FIGURE IT OUT!!!”

I know we are all in this same kind of boat although we are not navigating the exact same waves, I know that for sure. Some are working from home while also learning to teach school. Some are displaced from life or work or family or whatever it is…but we are all out here doing our very best with the unknows. It literally feels like most of life is filled full of unknowns.

Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan Dr Erica Peabody - New

You haven’t heard from me through this format in a long time as navigating it all has pushed blogging to the back burner. One other stumbling block is my laptop was on its last leg for a few months. I would begin writing here or inside of an office newsletter and in the middle, prior to be able to save it, it would kick me all the way back off and discard all that I had written. Life has taken a lot of extra energy lately and so trying to deal with that as well was just plain frustration.

So I ordered a new laptop and braved the curbside pick-up they had set up and honestly it was seamless and rather delightful!! So I now have a brand new machine to communicate with you better. I am excited to move forward with this blog and creating other content as we all learn to navigate this brand new life.

I take solace in writing and sharing in this manner and hopefully it remains interesting and entertaining as I share tips and trick, but probably more brutal honesty as we move through the stories of life: mine, my practice, friends, colleagues, being a dog mom, my family….on and on we will go. Check back here regularly and of course all of these posts will be shared on my social media platforms.

Years ago, I named this blog “We Only Get One Chance” and I still live and eat and breathe by that tagline in my day to day. Maybe now, more than ever before, others have really increased their awareness around that as well, that we really do get only one chance. It is time to make the very best of it!!

New computer, new life, many unknows and a new commitment to sharing and helping in any way I can. Stay tuned!!

THE FIRST YEAR

I cannot believe that we are already through the first year of practice here at the Center For Well-Being, our beautiful BIG BLUE!!!

Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - Dr Erica Peabody - The first year
The Center for Well-Being

This will mark my 15th year in private practice but the first year in this location. It has been nothing less than incredible!!! We have, hands down, no exception, the most beautiful office space in the area. I am not saying that just to toot our own horn either. As you look around during your appointments, you will notice it is like being adjusted in a museum. The woodwork is incredible, there is so much to look at. I do my work by hand, and the fact that all of this woodworking was done by hand is just so impressive.

The space that we adjust out of is just absolute perfection for us. We have room to move and breathe and as our reception area packs full, which happens on the regular here, we still have room for everyone and do not feel like they are sitting on top of one another. The greatest thing is being able to have so much room to move as I dance around my tables adjusting all day long.

Our Office

I am grateful beyond any words that could describe it all. One year later, I look back to where it all began with a big unveiling of our sign out front in the front yard on Monday, September 17th of last year at 9:45 to accept our first patients at 10!

Every single day I feel more and more healing coming from this building, but as we work with her more and more and begin to shine her run-down corners, I can feel her healing as well. She hasn’t had the TLC over the past years that she is so deserving of.

Have you been in here yet? Do you feel the grounding and healing energy like we do?

Over the past 3 months, we have been able to really begin to shine up those run-down corners, hallways and rooms. She was already so beautiful but you need to SEE HER NOW!!!

Dr Erica Peabody - Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - The first year

We have our first tenants moved in and joining their businesses under our roof. It was the intention from the start that instead of saying “The acupuncturist is across town” we can now officially say “The acupuncturist is just down the hallway and to the left.” as Michigan Community Acupuncture has joined us early September.

I have many practitioners that I refer to on a regular basis and now we can ALSO say “An incredible psychotherapist, Lauren Lay, is just up the grand staircase and to the right. She has created a beautiful cozy space to work in.

What I love the most about all of this is that there are other great people now loving on our building just like we have over the past year, and it is only the beginning. We have a few other things in the works and only 11 more office spaces available up for grabs at this point and we couldn’t be any more excited about this whole thing coming together as my dream is brought to life.

WOW!!! One whole year!!!

Just WOW!!! And if the first year is any indication of where this thing has potential of going, I stand in pure amazement. Swing by and see for yourself! It is time to plan an official OPEN HOUSE!!! Stay tuned….

THE HARDEST DAY

“It is hard to prepare for the hardest day of your life when you have no idea about what the hardest day in your life will be like.”Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - The Sidelines - Dr Erica Peabody

That was a quote from my brother, Garrett, last night as I sat in my office with 3 women who will be heading to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2 months.

Since my trek, many local (semi-local in the region) people have stepped up to ask what it is like to do that climb because they are heading that way within months.

“How did you train?”

“What did you bring?”

“What was the most used piece of gear that you didn’t expect?”

“What about medications?  And which vaccinations?”

“What is the bathroom situation when you are climbing?”

“What did they feed you?”

“Tell us about summit night…

“What do you mean ‘Don’t die with your day pack on?'”

The last one was the best one.

I walked and talked these ladies through my entire trip last night over 2 hours of conversation.  They are bringing their husbands and teenagers with them.Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - Surrender Hikers - Dr Erica Peabody Mt. Kilimanjaro

As we were going through all the details, I realized just how amazing the trip was doing it with an incredible group of women.  I remembered around any corner, if anyone needed anything, someone had extra of it and was willing to share.  What could you possibly want that one of the 31 women didn’t have...I mean half of them were moms and MOMS ARE PREPARED!!!

We all suffered a lot during the trip but, and this may be a major over-generalization and stereotype (sorry, not sorry), women are pretty graceful at dealing with suffering and moving forward anyway.

When Kelly and I headed over to Kilimanjaro, WHOA Travel gave us a packing list and sort of an idea about the trip with the FAQs of course, but we didn’t have anyone to sit down and have this kind of conversation with, which looking back was a blessing and a curse.

How did I prepare for dealing with having to go to the bathroom out on the trail?

How did I clean my body and what was it like to use wet wipes as a “shower” every morning and night for all those days?Dr Erica Peabody - A Month Later - Chiropractor Fenton Michigan

How did I manage my period that started on day 2 of an 8 day trip and summit on the day of highest level of anemia in oxygen levels half the normal of sea level?

What about the hole in my heart and the decreased oxygen levels that I experience at sea level just walking around much less 19,341 ft above sea level.

How did you manage the 10 day trip with a total of 24 hours of sleep?  How did you function like that?

What did you do at night when you were unable to sleep?  and then the next night?  and the next?  How did you keep hiking 6-7 hours per day with such little sleep?

How did you keep your clothes in good working order and what materials did you prefer to wear up there?

How do you manage temperatures from 90 degrees at the bottom to below zero at the top?

Were you bored out on the trail during the days?

How do you hike 15,000 ft to 19,341 on the final day with barely anything to eat or drink (due to my own specific circumstances) while having 3 bouts of massive diarrhea and having to still manage your period sitting and squatting on porous lava rocks at zero degrees?

What do you mean your porter had to help your every single step for the final 100 yards to the top?

It seems so strange that going down is actually harder than going up?  A walking boot for 6 months following your trek?  Still not healed?  How is that even possible?Dr Erica Peabody - Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - The Hardest Day

There was a real thought on my plane ride over there that it is possible, possible anytime of course but more possible than anything I had done before, that I wasn’t coming back.  Of course that wouldn’t have been ideal, and I am glad that it didn’t happen and I lived to tell all these stories, but truly that trek is quite dangerous.  The trail is relatively safe but exposure to the different elements, not to mention 19,341 ft elevation, can cost you your life.  I am not sure they ever really considered that deeply…maybe they have but I think they were caught off-guard that I would speak about it so casually.

I also remember, when I had that thought I mentioned above, that I was okay with how my life had been and how much I have done and accomplished and just how many lives I had helped to make a difference, big or small.  Because life is truly about contribution.  When exposed to cultures like what was in Tanzania, and spend those 10 days with them, life gets really simple.  Clothes on their backs, shoes on their feet, roof over their heads, foot to eat and family and that is true happiness.  Truly.  <<<—-THAT is the simplest thing of all.

So how do you prepare for the hardest day of your life….put a smile on your face, look around, be sure you packed the right layers and take in every last moment because your life will FOREVER BE CHANGED…for the better.  Best of luck to that group, I am sure you will all have massive success and I am excited for the report back when you are done!  <3

I’LL TAKE A HUG

Out of the mouth of babes “I think I’ll take a hug.”

Be still my heart…let me set the scene.Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - I'll Take A Hug - Dr Erica Peabody

Life has been incredibly busy and full and I haven’t gotten specific time to hang with my nieces and nephews like I usually do.  Actually it is not just the time of life, it has more to do with the season than anything.  We hang out every weekend all summer long playing together on the lake.  When winter rolls around, although we all love the wintertime and the snow, it just isn’t as organic to get together.

A few weekends back I chose to take time from the regular busy life, canceled a few things and headed up north to ski with some of my family and be able to have some high quality time together.  I am not a skier but when I am out on the slopes helping with the little ones, it is nearly impossible to do anything helpful strapped to my snowboard.

I bought a set of skies about 2 years ago, after not skiing for 22 years, and have been having a lot of fun with the kids out on the slopes as they learn to make turns on their own.

It was a fun filled day of skiing and each of them were eager to show Aunt E just how good they are getting…and they really are!  It is the best to be able to be with them as they are learning so much and putting pieces of their own worlds together.  I absolutely love being in the role of Aunt E.Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - Dr Erica Peabody - I'll Take A Hug

So at the very end of the day, I was going to drive back downstate to be with Mike for the rest of the weekend.  I said my “good-byes” to all of the adults and had to hunt down a few kids to give them squeezes and kisses and one more exchange about how proud I was of their skiing.

There were a missing group tucked in a back room watching a movie together.  As I knocked on the door and entered, I found them all huddled around a little TV on the top bunk watching a movie together, a precious site in and of itself.

I said Hey guys!  Aunt E is going to go now and I just wanted to say good-bye and tell you how great you are all getting at skiing.”

“Aunt E, where are you going?”

“I am going to be with Mike for the rest of the weekend and so I will be driving back down to our house in Frankenmuth and we will have Sunday together.”

“Awe, do you have to go?”

“Yes guys, I want to be able to get some good sleep and wake up refreshed for Sunday back home.”

“Ok.  Well maybe we will be able to ski again some other weekend?”

“Absolutely!”Best Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - Dr ERica Peabody - I'll Take A Hug

They were all tucked together and up high and so I wasn’t able to really get up to them to do much so I said “Hey, how about high fives all the way around?”

They did that and I turned around and headed for the door when Charlei chimes in and says, “Hey Aunt E?  I think I will take a hug.”   …and proceeds to climb all the way down to give me a hug.

It was the sweetest thing.  In fact I left and shed tears of gratitude during the first 30 minutes of my drive back downstate.

I am fortunate to have such an incredible family.

I am blessed and lucky to have these little one running around calling me Aunt E and caring about spending time with me.  In all of the things that I do to make a small difference in my little corner of the world, knowing that I have touched them is one of the most important things.

“I think I’ll take a hug.” from the mouth of my 7 (almost 8) year old niece.  They all mean the world to me and that phrase landed so intensely on my heart in the most beautiful way.  Thank you sweet little ones!

I’VE BEEN MEANING TO TELL YOU

I’ve been meaning to tell you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!Chiropractor Fenton Michigan - I've been meaning to tell you - Dr Erica Peabody

Wait!!!  It is past the middle of January, isn’t it too late to say that?  Yes, you are probably right however I do hope your New Year is off to a great start!!!

I am writing to let you know that I spent all the money I was going to use to send out holiday greeting cards.  I went to order them but when I ran the numbers of how many thousands of cards we would have to send out here at Cafe of LIFE Chiropractic as well as my personal life and how many hours it would take to personalize all of that, I decided to do something different.

Over the past 13 years, Cafe of LIFE Chiropractic has grown and served so many people in and around this area that our address list consists of thousands of people.  Back in the early days when the Cafe was in its infancy, it was pretty simple to order 500 cards and take the time to sign them all, address the envelopes and send them out.

After a few years, and our office filled up, I realized how much time that was taking from my staff and myself as well as just how much money was spent to make all that happen.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love receiving Christmas cards and and holiday greetings and love to see how your families are growing.  THANK YOU SO MUCH for including us in your Christmas card list!  In fact, we have kept all of those beautiful cards with your gorgeous families here at the office and have wallpapered the back side of a door here atChiropractor Fenton Michigan - I've Been Meaning to Tell You - Dr Erica Peabody

the Cafe.  Want to see it?   —>>>

I decided about 5 years ago, since it was a substantial amount of money to make that all happen and I also know that there are many people going without food in our area, more than we even know, I would donate all that money to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

The Food Bank can take $1 and get six meals out of it.  I don’t know what kind of food they can get their hands on but it has to be better than no food at all, especially during this time of year.

If one single dollar provides SIX MEALS to those in need, with the money we donated we provided THOUSANDS OF MEALS.  That makes us feel good about what happened to your Christmas greetings this year and for the past few years…someone is eating your Christmas card.

I realize that sending Christmas cards and greetings is an important part of the year to many people.  In fact, I am certain in the coming years I will get back to sending personal holiday cards again with a regular update as life progresses.  In the meantime, I will be supporting places that support our community and make the world a better place.  I think feeding people instead of sending cards was a great choice for us as I know our money was spread far and wide.

I trust the year is off to a great start and I’ve been meaning to tell you all that I am thinking about you, Merry Christmas and Happy 2018!!  May this be your best year yet!!!  …and something to think about for the future, maybe you will send some money to them as well knowing how much need there is and how far your dollar can go.

It is the month of THANKSGIVING!!!  The best holiday of them all in my opinion.  We have a GRATITUDE PROJECT going on in our office for the final months of the year.

Our lives are blessed in so many ways.  Seriously so, so, so many ways.

I want to challenge you to sit for 5 minutes, set a timer even, and think about all the different things you are grateful for.  Make a list in your mind.  Can’t fill 5 minutes of time?  Look harder, you are not paying close enough attention.

I am so very grateful for my office Cafe of LIFE Chiropractic and the ability to serve this community!  I could not imagine my life any other way than spending my days doing what I love.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE to fill this space with GRATITUDE!!!!!!!!

GRATITUDE PROJECT:

Each day you walk into the Cafe of LIFE, you will make sure to stop by our GRATITUDE STATION.  There are leaf cut-outs ready for you.  Write one thing you are grateful and tape it to our tree on our window.  It becomes the biggest and most beautiful gratitude tree in just a few short weeks, and we just keep going.  It is simple and super fun and such an awesome way to build GRATITUDE ENERGY!!!

And if you are not a patient here at the Cafe of LIFE, feel free to swing by and just fill out a leaf and join our mission.  The more GRATITUDE, the BETTER!!!!

In saying all of that, I want to take a moment to extend my GRATITUDE to you, my readers, family, friends and patients, for being part of my life.  My life and heart are filled up because of YOU!!!  Thank you.
